Too often we start the week with dread and foreboding as we visualise our loaded in-tray and bulging email inboxes!

And when it’s Friday, we are looking forward to resting, chilling and snoozing all weekend – if only.

Here’s a quick tool to use, to having an AWESOME day – whatever time of the week you are reading this.

A – Air

Get enough oxygen into your lungs – outdoors. And breathe in God’s gift for your body – that He blesses you with, on a daily basis.

Fun fact: A person breathes 7 to 8 litres of air per minute

Technique: Lie down. Place a heavy book on your stomach. If you are breathing correctly, the book moves up when you breathe in.

W – Water

Get enough water into your body – within 30 minutes of waking. You body is just coming out of a night fast where it spent time slowly digesting your dinner. One of the first thing it needs to do, is get rid of everything that the body did not need.

Fun fact: Apple Cider Vinegar is a naturally detoxifying product that gently removes toxins from your body – purifying your blood and building your immune system.

Technique: On an empty stomach, take a glass of warm-to-hot water. Some like to add lemon slices in their water. Others add a spoonful of Apple Cider Vinegar.

E – Exercise

Get enough exercise within 2 hours of waking up. A simple way to do this is simply to use the shock factor. That is, just do it! It could be taking a brisk walk, skipping rope, doing sit ups, doing push ups, or dancing to your favourite song. What are you aiming for? Get moving so that your body remembers to build muscle (to prevent loss of muscle tone and osteoporosis). Exercise also drains your lymphatic system.

Fun fact: Your lymphatic system is your body’s built-in sanitation centre, the plumbing that carries away and filters out poisonous waste products from every cell, tissue and organ. It absorbs fats and fat-soluble vitamins from the digestive tract and delivers them to the cells of the body.

Your lymphatic system is double the size of your arterial blood system and it needs your help to move the fluid around, as it lacks a pump (like the heart is for the blood system).

So move around! Any exercise for 15-20 minutes helps.
